Today all 4 of us got on the elliptical that = 100%!!!! My personal goal is do a minimum of 30 min everyday of some type of exercise but for hubby and the kids at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 min is the goal. And the best news is that hubby has lost almost 5lbs this week!! He is really trying hard and I'm so proud of him!!!

Day 2... and 24 hour Fitness
Today hubby and I headed over to 24 hour Fitness to check on the status of our membership. Back in November when it was time to sign up for 2013 benefits I opted to leave Lifetime and join 24 hour Fitness through a payroll deduction. We can both go to 24 hour for less then I paid just for me at Lifetime which is nice... another bonus is it's close to home (right next to Starbucks) We can also use it any location!! Michael is going to use one close to his job on the way home while he waits for traffic to die down and I will be doing Zumba at several locations with a friend. On the weekends we will probably use the one close to home. Although my employer had not updated the new data base yet they went ahead and gave us a 2 week pass so we could get started. I really hope Michael will take advantage of this.

WE DID IT!!!!
I can not even begin to express how proud I am of my family right now!!! They got up this morning and we headed out the door to drive downtown for the Commitment Day 5k. It was cold and rainy but no one and I mean no one complained about it!!! Hubby and daughter walked it while son and I walked/ran it. They all survived and our next family 5k will be in April. Between now and then I am going to help them through C25K per my sons request! My husband thanked me on our way home for "making" him stick with it!!

Welcome
Welcome to Fit Family... this year you will be following my family as we get fit and healthy!!! We will be starting the year by participating in the Commitment Day 5K on January 1st. Of course my kids are going to be kicking and screaming... husband too as it is suppose to be cold and rainy!!! But what is the saying... nothing ventured nothing gained??? We WILL do this!
